The kitchen’s material palette in soft white was thoughtfully selected to be a neutral backdrop for the homeowners’ whimsical art collection and the broad views of Austin’s Hill Country beyond. The cabinetry design elements and layout allow the kitchen to correspond to the grand scale of the architecture while providing a functional space for cooking, comfortable family gatherings, and elegant entertaining alike. Contrasting oak wood veneer on the back wall visually defines the kitchen space and provides subtle warmth and texture. An adjoining utility area in coordinating materials doubles as a natural extension of the kitchen. Similarly, a bar nook, transitionally located between the kitchen and living, was designed to be beautifully complementary day or night.
